WhatsApp developers have been testing and adding several new features. They are currently testing a new feature that will let users create and share a video link like Google Meet, Zoom etc. However, In Whatsapp, only video calls will be allowed it seems. Here’s how you can use it.
Go to the Call Section in your Whatsapp. You will be able to see the option to create a call link. Just tap on that.
On creating link, you will be entering into a screen like this:
From here, you have 3 options to share the links:
1. Send link via Whatsapp: Able to share the link in Whatsapp chat itself.
2. Copy link: Able to copy the link and share that wherever you want.
3. Share link: Able to share links in any of the external chatting applications.
Clicking on the link will show a video window asking you to “JOIN” or “LEAVE”. On
joining, you are done. Enjoy conferencing!!
It looks like the developers are currently rolling out the new feature to a few beta testers. This feature is compatible with WhatsApp Beta version 2.22.20.79. However, there is no word on when the update will be rolled out to other beta testers, so it might take a while before it is available in the normal version of WhatsApp.
